 Sound scriber  and autograph discs  or various dictaphone cassettes sizes. to 24 bit 44.1,48 or 96Khz  We always use Azimuth  head adjustment on all reels and tapes to achieve the optimal playback sound. 

Stick Shed Syndrome 

Many tapes may be affected to some degree by Sticky Shed, a noticeable ‘squealing’ sound as the tape is played, often accompanied by excessive wow and flutter and the shedding of sticky iron oxide particles on  playback heads and pinch roller.

The most common offenders are Ampex and the ‘Grand Master’ consumer/audiophile back-coated tapes.

Some ‘pro’ tapes (manufactured by Scotch/3M)s audiophile 

Sticky shed is caused by moisture-induced breakdown of the binder holding the iron oxide particles to the base tape, Due to the unpredictable nature of the problem

Only with client consent are tapes baked before transfer without exception.

 Baking quarter inch tapes at an accurately controlled 55 degrees C for 2-3 hours hours for quarter- and one  half inch tapes.This removes the   moisture in a slow and controlled way, allowing us to retrieve and transfer the recorded content .

Be advised we don't play any tapes exhibiting stick tapes   as it may well destroy the tape and its recorded content.

Archival recording are pure without any editing and Meta data and engineer's notes provide.

If you have  rare records  any size up to 16 inch that are not available on CD or MP3 then we can help you transfer them to CD, MP3 or a format of your choosing. We are lovers of everything vinyl so you can be assured of a high quality transfer on only the very best hi fi equipment

We noticeably improve the quality of your recordings by reducing or removing any hum, hiss or rumble and optimizing the levels in targeted frequency bands.
Reel to Reel tapes can hold as much as 12 hours of recording; it sometimes pays to know what is on there before going ahead with a transfer.

Tapes are baked free leader added where necessary but only if necessary with consultation with the customer.
